Our event partner is Family Promise of Hawai‘i. Family Promise has been very successful at mobilizing existing community resources to help homeless families transition to sustainable independence. Family Promise of Hawai‘i utilizes two networks (Windward Oahu and Honolulu) which are comprised of churches, temples and synagogues to host families for a week at a time. At night the congregations provide pleasant accommodations for the families to stay and wonderful volunteers who prepare dinner and breakfast for them to enjoy. During the day Family Promise of Hawai‘i offers two locations where families can go to apply for jobs, do laundry and meet with case workers who offer support. Approximately 80% of the families transition into housing within 3-4 months at Family Promise of Hawai‘i. Please consider helping Emmanuel Episcopal support this worthwhile organization!!
